I am extremely proud and privileged to begin my 17th year at Spotswood High School. I began my teaching career in 1980 at Conerly Road School in Franklin Township. After 3 years in this elementary school, I went on to teach at Sampson G. Smith Middle School for the next 10 years, being recognized in 1990-91 for the Governor’s Recognition Program by my peers at S.G.S. In July 1993, I began my administrative career as an Assistant Principal at S.G.S.

In November of 1994, I was named the Assistant Principal and Director of Athletics at New Providence High School. I served as the President of the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference from 1998-2000 while overseeing 20 athletic teams and 44 coaches at New Providence. In 1997, I was name the Principal of New Providence Middle School, developing such initiatives as Peer Leadership, Lead for Diversity Club, starting 8 new exploratory courses, while also developing an intramural and interscholastic sports program.

My true love, however, is in the high school level. I began my career in Spotswood as the Assistant Principal and Director of Athletics serving in this role from 2001 to 2004. In July of 2004, I was fortunate to be named the Principal of Spotswood High School. My goal has always been to be a High School Principal and hopefully impact student lives in a positive and productive way. I am also lucky and thankful for having a career that I have enjoyed each and every day. Doing what you truly love to do and interacting with my students, professional staff and parents is enjoyable and a pleasure.

I have been in three incredible school districts and all of my experiences have been enriching and rewarding. As I always tell my students, my parents and staff, I believe that Spotswood High School is second to none. At Spotswood High School, we are always looking for ways to improve and continue our excellence in academics, athletics, the arts, and in giving back to the community. I thank the community and the Board of Education for their total support of every endeavor here at SHS. I am looking forward to another great school year at what I know is the best High School in the state.
